The development of this wind park – first public wind park in France – shows that local and regional authorities can work in a holistic way in terms of energy plans and can use the development of renewable energies as a key sector for the local economic development. The wind park consists of 4 wind turbines of 2 MW each. Located in Montdidier (6000 inhabitants), the park should cover 53% of the electricity consumption (19 Gwh) of the municipality.Contrary to private wind parks, the totality of the profits will benefit the citizens: maintenance and improvement of the networks, improvements and refurbishments of low energy buildings.
