In Western Blekinge it has been built one of the longest European Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridges; it plays a fundamental role in promoting sustainable mobility.
In a district of the municipality Sölvesborg in western Blekinge one of Europe’s longest Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridges has been built. The bridge measures 756 meters and extends from the district Ljungaviken over Sölvesborg Bay and to the city center. The bridge represents a new landmark for Sölvesborg and also a connection that makes it easier to go by bike or walk. This benefit both local residents who in a convenient way can get to the City’s finest beaches and it is above all an important part of the municipality’s environmental efforts since the bridge facilitates environmentally friendly mode of transport.
