The Global Barometer on Youth and Sustainable Development has been released

ARENE Île-de-France and its partners have issued the study  “SCENARIO 2016-3rd Edition of the Barometer on YOUTH, CLIMATE AND EMPLOYMENT: Perceptions and expectations of 18-29 year olds in 13 countries around the world” during the COP22 in Marrakech.

The 2016 Scenario marks a new step forward towards a regional targeting of the youth, since this 3rd edition is dedicated to young people between 18 and 29 years old in 12 countries of the Arab world. More than anywhere else, the countries of North Africa and the Middle East face particular challenges in the fight against climate change. Host of COP22, Morocco offers an unprecedented forum for young people from the countries of this region to express their expectations towards an international community which will have to find concrete ways to implement the Paris Agreement.

The purpose of this initiative is to understand their perceptions regarding the relation between climate and employment, and then share with the public their expectations vis-à-vis the negotiation process which shapes today the world they will inherit tomorrow.
