Energy Agency for Southeast Sweden, ESS (Energikontor Sydost), started on the first of June 1999 and is a member of Federane since June 4^th. We mainly work in Southeast Sweden (counties Blekinge, Jönköping, Kalmar and Kronoberg) and our main goal is to work with energy efficiency and renewable energy. Chairman is Mr. Paul Johansson.

- Our part of Sweden has good opportunities in the wind energy field on the island Öland and for bio mass on the mainland. Plants for heating and cogeneration from bio fuels are very well implemented and growing.

- Energy efficient eco-buildings are a main area in our region. Especially massive wood eco-buildings (passive house) are being developed here. Also a main area is to work with energy efficiency within the industry.

- Improvements are also made in the transport sector with renewable fuels.
