Economic disequilibria and diverging social conditions of private house-holds bear a huge challenge to a socially fair design of the energy supply in Europe and its member states. Future European energy and climate policy needs to take into account the great differences of starting points in the member states. Information and consultation especially for vulnerable consumers turn out to offer part of the solution. This can be shown by the experiences and results of the IEE-funded project EC-LINC.
