Software for Energy Audit - Teachers

The school buildings use energy mainly for heating, sanitary water, lighting.

The software is particularly addressed to students of secondary schools. The method of analysis to monitor energy consumptions of the pilot school is easy and user-friendly; it requires few basic data easily achievable.

The use of the software permits to know the “energy quality” of the pilot-school. Furthermore, it permits to the users to define the easiest interventions with lowest costs to get a better energy performance and check the opportunity to submit the building to the specific analyses by experts and energy technicians and verify the necessity of more complex interventions.

Reports on Environmental/Energy Values

These reports deal with the general educational schedule implemented.  The General Educational Schedule is the first educational step developed with students and teachers of the

Pilot-School. In this phase the personnel of the Agency gave to them the basic tools about the main energy and environmental issues. Particularly, the subjects of the 18 meetings (10 with the students and 8 with the teachers) were:

ôKyoto Protocol and climate change;

ô Renewable Energy Sources;

ô Fossil Energy Sources;

ô Policy and technologies;

ô National Use of Energy and sustainable development;

ô Local policies and presentation of best practices.

The educational process adopted a new didactic approach (see above  - “Guidelines for the didactic approach”) that presented the use of desktop publishing, videos, questionnaires, interactive quiz games

That educational process was introduced by an entry test administrated to the students of the “Working Group” to verify their knowledge and their level of sensitiveness about those issues; this educational process was finished with the administration (without advance notice) of a comparison test, identical to the previous test, used to compare the results and check eventual improvements about the same issues.
