Introduction to Biogas, Biomethane and Anaerobic Digestion

Biogas is the name given to the mixture of gases that is produced when readily bio-degradable waste is digested by bacteria in the absence of air. The process to produce biogas is known as anaerobic digestion; anaerobic digestion technology is engineered in order to create the right process conditions for the anaerobic bacteria to breakdown organic matter. This guide is a non-technical introduction to the process and its importance.
