Dr Julije Domac is a recognised international expert with 18 years of experience and more than 60 scientific and professional papers in field of renewable energy and energy efficiency. He works as Managing Director of the North-West Croatia Energy Agency and in the past he acted as the national biomass programme coordinator in Croatia, project leader for UNIDO, lead expert for the World Bank, project director for FAO, expert evaluator for the European Commission (IEE and 6th Framework) and Task Manager for the International Energy Agency (IEA). Julije is President of FEDARENE since 2013.

Christiane Egger is Deputy Manager of the O.Ö. Energiesparverband, the energy agency of Upper Austria, and the manager of the Ökoenergie-Cluster, a network of 160 companies active in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Christiane is also the Vice-President of FEDARENE, the European network of regional energy and environment agencies. She is the conference director of the World Sustainable Energy Days, one of the largest annual conferences in Europe on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. Christiane is an expert in energy efficiency in buildings, in solar and biomass heating and in dissemination and promotion of sustainable energy production and use. She holds a law degree and a post-graduate degree in environmental engineering.

B&SU – Beratungs und Service-Gesellschaft Umwelt mbH, Berlin [Germany]

Thekla HEINEL is Head of Department for International Projects and has been working for more than 20 years for B.&S.U. Beratungs- und Service-Gesellschaft Umwelt mbH in the field of energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy sources, sustainable mobility, awareness raising and campaigning with a special focus on climate protection in municipalities and regions. B.&S.U.mbH is the German office for the European Energy Award (eea) and has developed the eea together with European partners. The European Energy Award is a quality management and certification system for municipalities committed to sustainable municipal energy, climate and transport policies, with currently more than 1,300 participating municipalities and regions.

Adrian M Joyce is an architect who spent 17 years in private practice before getting involved full-time in architectural policy. He was for 18 months in 2002 the Practice Director of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland before becoming the Director of the Architects’ Council of Europe in Brussels until July 2011. He holds a part-time post teaching Construction Technology at the Catholic University of Louvain-le-Neuve. He is a Board Member of eceee (European Council for an energy Efficient Economy) and a Member of the Steering Committee of the European Coalition for Energy Savings. He is also the Campaign Director of the Renovate Europe Campaign, which has been initiated by EuroACE (European Alliance of Companies for Energy Efficiency in Buildings).

Iñigo ANSOLA KAREAGA
Director of the Basque Energy Agency [Spain]

The Basque Government has appointed Iñigo Ansola Kareaga as the new General Manager of the Ente Vasco de la Energía (EVE) at the end of 2016. Born in 1974, Ansola joins the energy sector with the intention of pushing the Basque Country towards an efficient energy management model. The pillars his work will focus on for this legislature will be the acknowledgment of energy as a value for society and its management in a public sphere as a mean to develop economically and socially. Previously Ansola was President of the Commonwealth of Lea-Artibai (2003-2007), held various positions in the Biscay Provincial Council, including General Director of Waters (2007-2011) and the Basque Government as General Director of Environmental Infrastructures (2011-2013), and General Manager of the Water Agency-URA (2013-2016).

Bruno HRANIĆ
Member of the Committee of the Regions
Mayor of the Municipality of Vidovec [Croatia] – Rapporteur on the Regulation on the Governance of the Energy Union

The Secretary General of the Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Croatia and Mayor of Vidovec for different mandates since 1996, Bruno Hranić, is engaged in the European Committee of the Regions in the delegation for continental Croatia. Mr Hranić is political coordinator of the ENVE Commission, which covers Environment, Climate Change, Energy of the EU and has recently been appointed Rapporteur of the dossier on “Energy Union and clean energy”. In his vision, European cities and regions have a vital role in shaping EU’s energy and climate policies, and further coordinated actions along with tailored financial mechanisms are necessary to implement the Paris Agreement.

Katarina DELSING

Katarina Delsing is the CEO of North Sweden Energy Agency. She is leading a team of 13 people dedicated to help private companies and public sector to become greener, more sustainable and successful. She has a long term experience as Manager in different sectors. Previously, she worked in small scale as well as international companies. She is also familiar with start-ups and the research field. She holds a technical licentiate degree as well as a Master degree in Chemical Engineering from Lund Institute of Technology. Moreover, she also studied business administration.
