Creating policy instruments for the support of innovation procurement

REA North has the pleasure of inviting you to take part in the Conference “Creating policy instruments for the support of public procurement of innovation” which will be held on the 5th of February 2020 in the European Parliament (room A5E3) in Brussels, as part of the 11th European Innovation Summit programme. Hosted under the auspices of the MEP Ms Sunčana Glavak and partner organisations, Regional Energy Agency North, City of Koprivnica, Sviluppumbria and Be.Funded, the conference will bring together policymakers, national and regional representatives in charge of national/regional policy instruments for support of PPI, EU networks/agencies in the field of innovation procurement, public authorities, representatives of the Prominent MED project partner countries (Portugal, France, Italy, Spain and Croatia) with the aim of supporting the use of public procurement of innovation.

This conference will be held as part of the Prominent MED (Public pROcureMent of INnovation boosting greEN growTh in MED area) project, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund with the focus on the use of PPI to stimulate development of innovative energy efficiency solutions. The aim of the conference is to help policymakers, public authorities and other stakeholders to recognize and use the power of innovation procurement. More specifically, through the presentation of different EU/national/regional policy instruments and projects supporting and promoting innovation procurement, it will look at potential policies and solutions to improve the use of public procurement to promote innovation. Since this event will take place during the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the EU we will also have the opportunity to hear about the priorities of Croatia’s presidency related to this topic and innovation in general.

If you have an EU institution badge, already granting access to the EP premises, please make sure to have it with you so that you can access the venue. Otherwise, following the security screening, please send us the following personal information that will grant you access to the premises of the European Parliament:

  • name, surname;
  • date and place of birth;
  • passport or ID number.

Please make sure to have that document with you on 5th of February.

Registration for the conference starts at 12:10 and the programme will start at 12:30. In order to avoid delays at registration, please schedule your arrival at least 20 minutes before the opening session of the conference. Accreditation badges for visitors will be distributed in front of the Altiero Spinelli main entrance of the European Parliament at 12:00.
