Dr Augustenborg will deliver a powerful speech about “A holistic approach to energy transition”
UPDATE: Due to personal reasons, Ms. Augustenborg is unable to attend the ManagEnergy Talk.
The event is thus cancelled.
After two very successful editions featuring story-teller Rob Hopkins and Prof. Per Espen Stoknes, the ManagEnergy Talk is back during the Covenant of Mayors Investment Forum – Energy Efficiency Finance Market Place! Dr Cara Augustenborg will deliver an inspirational speech on “A holistic approach to energy transition”. Join us on the 18th of February 2020!
The ManagEnergy Talks explore innovative, ambitious and transformative actions led by local/regional actors. It seeks to inspire others to spear head the drive for investment and action on sustainable energy. They are meant to serve as a forum for the discussion of new political initiatives, legislative processes or financial innovations from the different perspectives of all relevant stakeholders.
For its third edition, ManagEnergy has invited Dr Cara Augustenborg to talk about Europe’s Transition to a Fossil-free Economy. Dr. Cara Augustenborg trained as an environmental scientist at University of California Los Angeles, is now a Fellow in Environmental Policy at University College Dublin. She is a member of the President of Ireland’s Council of State and presents the environmental radio show “Down To Earth” on Ireland’s Newstalk FM. She was recently named 2020 Woman of Influence at the Irish Women’s Awards and the Independent newspaper named her as one of the 20 people leading the low carbon transition in Ireland in 2016. Formerly, she was the Chairperson of Friends of the Earth Europe and Friends of the Earth Ireland and served as a Government adviser for Ireland’s Environmental Protection Agency.
This talk will examine the many co-benefits of addressing the climate challenge along with the risks of exacerbating other environmental and societal challenges in the process. Dr. Augustenborg will also highlight changes in how climate change has been framed through her experience in the media and with civil society organisations.
Join us at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the 18th February at 5 pm for a thought-provoking ManagEnergy Talk!
