Roger Léron Award Ceremony 2020 & 30th Anniversary of FEDARENE

Join us for an exceptional evening on 16th September for the 6th Ceremony of the Roger Léron Award and the celebration of FEDARENE’s 30th anniversary.

2020 marks the 6th edition of the Roger Léron Award, but also the 30th Anniversary of FEDARENE. Both will be celebrated during an exceptional evening on the 16th of September where the Award nominees will be presented together with some of the most impressive achievements realised by FEDARENE members over the last 30 years. The event will take place in the prestigious Centre of Modern Arts of Brussels, the Bozar palace. It will gather high-level speakers for European Institutions, FEDARENE founders and members, and stakeholders from the sustainable energy field.

The theme for this milestone event will be: 30 years of Leading the Energy Transition: celebrating past achievements, working towards future victories. Indeed, we will celebrate the last 30 years of leading the Energy Transition thanks to all FEDARENE members’ past activities, but we will also use the anniversary as an opportunity to work on our vision for the future. Therefore, it is not just about celebrating our leading role in the Energy Transition so far, but also about working hard to make sure we remain leaders and we finally achieve this much needed transition.

The Roger Léron Award celebrates outstanding contributions to the development of sustainable energy at the EU, local and regional level. The Prize established in 2014 by FEDARENE, is named in memory of Roger Léron, a pioneer of regional energy development in Europe and one of FEDARENE’s founders. The aim is to acknowledge the creativity, motivation, leadership and strategic vision within the wide field of sustainable energy on a local and regional level in Europe. During this exceptional evening, the finalists and the winner of the prize will be presented.

In addition, to mark FEDARENE’s 30th anniversary, a large exhibition will be organised around the central theme, retracing the history of the organisation and its members. The week will also be the venue of many interesting events, including the FEDARENE General Assembly (reserved to FEDARENE members), the C-Track 50 EU Conference and a workshop on alternative mobility. More information will be available soonn, including the registration link.
