Discover the latest news of the C-Track 50 project – putting regions on track for carbon neutrality by 2050.

C-Track 50 is an EU funded project under the Horizon2020 Research and Innovation Programme and its aim is to mobilise and support local and regional authorities in energy and climate planning in order to achieve climate resilience and carbon neutrality by 2050. It offers technical help and guidance to selected municipalities in an attempt to help them define long-term energy policy priorities and develop, finance and implement sustainable and climate policy action plans.

In this second Newsletter, you will read about the various events where C-Track 50 was presented and the latest report produced. More specifically:

  • The policy session co-organised by C-Track 50 and other like-minded projects and initiatives during the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) on “Local authorities as drivers to address climate change”;
  • The IMEAS – C-Track 50 EUSEW side event entitled “Connecting the Unconnected” organised to discuss the stakes and challenges of Multi-Level Governance in Energy Planning;
  • The 3rd C-track 50 project meeting which took place in February 2019 in Oviedo, Spain;
  • The progress made by the German city of Freiburg to reach carbon neutrality;
  • The International Conference on Climate Action (ICCA) held on 22-23 May 2019;
  • The C-Track 50 recommendations regarding energy policy and climate priorities.
