The core tasks in the run-up to the implementation of the EU-wide greenhouse gas allowance-trading scheme is the elaboration of national allocation plans. A couple of weeks before the first deadline for current Member States, three Fedarene members sum up the situation in their region or country (Italy, Wallonia and Nord-Pas de Calais). In the interview, Professor McGlade, the executive director of the European Environment Agency gives outline on the evolution of the Kyoto Protocol and the implementation of the Emissions Trading Market in Europe.
