Focus on energy efficiency:
The European Union cannot achieve its objectives of 3×20 other than by reinforcing the current energy policy. None of these objectives can be reached without streamlining and strengthening the EU existing framework for energy efficiency. Energy efficiency is a part of broader initiatives of achieving EU energy and climate change policy objectives and of stimulating economic recovery and growth, and green job creation or retention.
FEDARENE through its president, rapporteur for the Committee of the Regions on the Energy Efficiency Directive, try to highlight some areas where a stronger commitment is needed and call for a higher involvement of the local and regional authorities as they are essential to the good realisation of numerous measures issued by the Directive.
