Recommendations for a Cohesion Policy that serves Green Recovery and Just Transition

The regions, energy agencies and islands of FEDARENE have a long standing recognition of the essential role of cohesion policy in stimulating investments for energy transition in their territories.

In this spirit, the European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira, welcomed the recommendations of FEDARENE addressing multiple issues:

• how to have a locally anchored Cohesion Policy post 2021;
• how to use the Cohesion Policy as a tool for Europe’s Green Recovery;
• the role of Regions and Energy Agencies in the Just Transition Mechanism;
• an Effective Territorial Cooperation 2021-2027.
