The Basque Country present its sustainability agenda during EUSEW

The Basque Country organised a meeting in Brussels during the EUSEW 2019 in order to tackle relevant aspects of energy efficiency along with other relevant institutions.

The Economic Development and Infrastructural conselor of the Basque Country’s government and the president of the Ente Vasco de la Energía (EVE), Arantxa Tapia and Iñigo Ansola, CEO of EVE, attendeded the European Union Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels, in which the Basque Country will participate in different events in order to present projects related to Energy Transition.

On 19th June, 2019 the delegation of the Basque Country in Brussels coordinated a meeting of agents performing in the energy field, among them, it is remarkable the attendance of WindEurope that manages the wind energy in Europe, the Ocean Energy Europe network for the development of the ocean energy, Solar Power EuropeEASME -the European agency for the competitivity and innovation-, and including FEDARENE that contributed and participated actively during the session. Likewise, the electric sector is represented by Eurelectric and relevant firms in industrial development in the Basque Country, such as Iberdrola, Siemens Gamesa and Acciona were also represented. In addition, institutional representatives from the Climate, Energy and Maritime affairs from the European Commission attended.

The meeting was quite productive. Many different ideas and knowledge were put on the table by organizations from different backgrounds.
